東北復興、石巻川の上プロジェクトについてのスペシャルトークをハーバードGSD（デザインスクール）にて開催
（English Follows）これは、不動産とデザインの融合を軸にした自身のProfit Oriented活動とともに、重要なライフワークの柱であるNon for Profit Oriented活動のひとつ。
まちは、従来型の不動産開発だけでは決して面白くはならず、ボトムアップ型の市民活動によるパブリックプレイスがあってこそ、魅力的なものになると考えている。
とくにこれからの日本の都市ようにシュリンキングしてゆく場所においては。
今回幸運にも自身の手がけたコミュニティセンターと復興プロジェクトのあらましをハーバードでプレゼンする機会を得られたので共有しておきたい。
復興団体の「川の上プロジェクト」事務局長であり長年の同士である三浦先生がハーバードGSDにいらしてくださった。

Learning from Tohoku, Japan: Disaster Recovery and Community Design
- A case Study of Ishinomaki Kawanokami Project-
スペシャルトークにはハーバード学内外からも様々な分野の学生達が集まり、真剣に耳を傾け、そして内容の濃い議論が交わされた。
デザインスクールからは地方再生や災害復興をデザインで解決しようと励む学生、都市開発と災害について研究する学生、都市計画を志す学生が集まり、ケネディ政策大学院やタフツ大学からは現役官僚の方々、そして建設業界から政策を学びにくる方々が集まった。
後援いただいたJapan GSDの皆様もあらためて感謝申し上げたい。
総勢20名、三浦さんがコーヒーのお供に仙台から持ってきてくれた萩の月も、一瞬でなくなる笑
ディスカッションの中でとくに盛り上がった項目やコメントは下記
・ボトムアップでの巻き込み、チームの力の重要性
・地元の有力者と若手混成チームの取組み手法
・その他地域、日本以外に適用可能なモデル
・東北は震災がきっかけで立ち上がった。では他の疲弊した地方は？
・「講」と呼ばれる相互補助システムが機能した。
・講はCo-workとして現代でも通用するのでは。
・百俵館のデザイン手法を地域にも広げる。
何より、人のちから、デザインのちからで復興とともにコミュニティが醸成されている成果を、この場で発表し、議論できたことを一日本人として誇りに思います。

Welcome to Harvard Miura san, the leader of the Kawanokami recovery project in Tohoku, Japan!
We were grateful to have pretty much diverse 20 students from all over Harvard GSD, HKS and Tufts Univ. We made a presentation on the process of the recovery, workshop and community planning. Also, had vibrant discussions with talented students. Special thanks to Japan GSD for their support.
Surprisingly, the Japanese sweets which Miura san brought from Tohoku, Japan vanished fast!
I would like to share thoughts and points made in our discussion.
- Significance of the bottom-up approach and team work
- Implementation by the mixed team comprised of local leaders and youthful powers.
- Applicable model to other areas both in Japan and worldwide
- The disaster became the trigger for them to revitalize, then how about other shrinking area in Japan?
- Mutually dependent system named "Co" worked very well
- The concept "Co" can be interpreted as Co-work in our time
- Design scheme of Hyappyokan is worth spreading among the area
On top of that, as fellow Japanese, We were very much proud that this wonderful opportunity allowed us to share our achievement through the project with Harvard community.
Hope the Kawanokami model inspires the world!!!
